Fragmentary.
I think you sort of leave me in little shards of thought. Happiness splinters into a thousand tiny pieces. I can't quite form full sentences. But I'll scatter the pieces around so you can have an idea of what the picture on the puzzle once was.
- Tight denim. Faded sky blue. (Brand new!)
- Pink juice. Unidentified flavor. Sparkling half full (not half empty!)
- Concentrated jolly smiles. (slivers of sunshine.)
- Poetry proclaiming all shades of solidity and constancy. (This is love.)
- Falling cameras!! (Oh shit! was the exclamation that slipped from her lips. Multiple times. Peals of laughter ensued. Bad role model of a sister.)
- LOUD music in the car. (toe tapping, head smashing.)
- I stared at you (til I couldn't think straight.)
- Flip flopping tummies. (It was a stirring thought.)
- But I'M the happiest girl in the world! (parody! twist! plagerizing!)
- Stares in the street. (look all you want. I am so taken! One day you will all see.)
- Nose kissing my teddy bear. (one day I suppose I'll have to nose kiss you too. Just a little nuzzle.)
- BLACK PEN. (Ink marks on hands make me so happy.)
- Familiar faces. (see you in class, dear!)
- Too many jellybeans. (because I neglected them for so long.)
- Accomplishments. (I'll be a very good girl some day.)
- Kisses blown a moment too late. (but it was good because they're secret now.)
Everything is so much better now. Can't you tell? It is. I promise this time. I'll kiss my hand then cross my heart and smile and my eyes will sparkle this time.
